About

Avery LaRue is a dynamic vocalist and storyteller who believes the most powerful moments happen when music and emotion meet. Her love for song began early, inspired by the legendary voices of Judy Garland, Julie Andrews, Bernadette Peters, Carolee Carmello, Marin Mazzie, Ella Fitzgerald, and Julie London—artists whose timeless elegance and heartfelt storytelling shaped Avery’s own style.

With a foundation in both opera and musical theater, Avery holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Houston and has appeared in a variety of operatic and theatrical productions, including Fiddler on the Roof, Evita, Miss Saigon, Hairspray, as well as operas such as Dinner at Eight, Hänsel und Gretel, and The Ballad of Baby Doe, among others.

With the ability to sing in multiple languages—including English, French, German, Italian, Latin, and Spanish—Avery brings both technical versatility and heartfelt storytelling to every stage she steps onto. Her performances have taken her from the Moores Opera Center to the Kennedy Center, where she has lent her voice to prestigious choral performances.

After stepping away from performing for several years following her opera degree, Avery found her way back to the stage in a moment that quietly reshaped her life. What began as a single production became a reawakening—reminding her why she fell in love with performing in the first place. Rehearsals, collaboration, and the thrill of live storytelling rekindled a confidence she hadn’t realized she missed. Instead of chasing perfection, she rediscovered the joy of simply being present. Since then, Avery has embraced every opportunity to perform, continuing to explore the artistry that first captured her heart.

When she isn’t onstage, Avery can be found exploring the world. She loves traveling to historic cities, learning about new cultures, and discovering the stories that shape different corners of the globe. Staying active is also a big part of her life—whether lifting weights, running, hiking scenic trails, or simply spending time outdoors. Adventure, movement, and cultural discovery continually inspire and energize her both on and off the stage.
